The continuing focus of the Unitary Being Perspective Research Section is to advance nursing knowledge related to this perspective and its application. The Unitary Being Perspective encompasses three major theories of the simultaneity paradigm: Newman’s Health as Expanding Consciousness, Parse’s Theory of Human Becoming, and Rogers’ Science of Unitary Human Beings. The Unitary Being Perspective is equally applicable and useful in clinical, administrative, educational, and research areas. The Unitary Being Perspective offers opportunities for nurses working in diverse roles and settings to assist clients, families, and communities experience optimum self-determined health. Research within individual, family, and group units of analysis has been conducted using this perspective. The Unitary Being Perspective Research Section has a diverse membership. Experienced researchers as well as doctoral students are members and mutually support research efforts using the Unitary Being Perspective.
